History

In 1988, SAS Flight Academy opened the current training center in Stockholm at Arlanda Airport. In July 1990, SAS Flight Academy became a wholly owned subsidiary of the SAS Group.

Development of the SAS Flight Academy into a modern, customer-oriented training company started in 1985 through new, aggressive strategies intended to make SAS Flight Academy the leading training center in Europe. As a result, 1985 to 1990 provided time for expansion and extensive pedagogical and technological developments.

Since the training center opened in 1988, the number of simulators has increased from six to sixteen. In August 2004, SAS Flight Academy opened its third training center in Oslo at Gardermoen and in 2006 they opened a center in Riga.

In 2007 SAS Group sold all its shares in Flight academy to Star Capital Partners. [2]
